Dike Fire and Rescue is a fully volunteer department located in northeast Iowa 15 miles west of Waterloo. Dike Fire offers complete services to the cities of Dike and Stout, also to surrounding rural areas. These services include but are not limited to, fire suppression, EMS, vehicle rescue, water rescue, and fire prevention just to mention a few. We also offer CPR and first aid education to the public.
Our department responds to an average of 130 alarms per year with around 20% of those being fire related and 80% medical emergencies of some sort. All this is accomplished with 22 dedicated members on a paid on-call basis.
Our business meetings are the first Wednesday of each month with training meeting on the third Monday of the month. We do one hour of training before our regular meeting each month and around two to three hours of training at our training meeting. We also have special EMS training nights to facilitate our personnel obtaining their required recertification hours.
